The Media Club of Presidency College (Autonomous) (NAAC Re accredited with A+ Grade) is an intellectual and creative hub for the students of Centre for Media Studies.
The objective of the club is to provide a forum for the students to voice forth their opinions, views, and perspectives. It aims to enhance keen observation skills, encourage critical thinking, and learn to be effective communicators.
Article 19(1)(a) enshrined in the Indian Constitution is the backbone of the Media Club- Free and fearless ideas and opinions through informed citizenry is the quintessential attribute of the Media Club members.
The Club hosts several workshops in collaboration with the industry experts, on Film Appreciation, News Anchoring, Digital Marketing, RJing, News Verification, Fact-Checking Vs Fake News and Short Film Making over the years.
The Club hosts the most awaited annual inter-collegiate Media fest – Vrittanta. The Fest witness’s huge participation from students across Karnataka.
The club has a student editorial board, that is responsible in bringing out the online portal ‘Hawkeye’ and the journal, ‘La Gazette’. The above publications are the initial steps for the media students towards responsible journalism. Reports, features, editorials, book and movie reviews, photo galleries and many such diverse modes of expressions are showcased through these publications.
