Gender Sensitivity Cell
A society that accepts diversity, believes in inclusion and fosters equality is a healthy, progressive and a productive way. Presidency College (Autonomous) (NAAC reaccredited with A+ grade) brought forth Gender Sensitivity Cell in the year 2019, with the aim of facilitating gender-inclusive awareness, to encourage dialogue around gender equality and to bring about social change for better.
The Cell constitutes of a Chairperson, Staff, and Student Coordinators from each department which is represented by a male and female coordinator.
At the outset, the coordinators were sensitized to understand the gender terminologies, objectives of the Cell and discussed their own aspirations for a gender-equal society. This session helped us to plan activities at the college level.
A poster making drive was initiated to create awareness and discussions around gender equality. Guest lectures on gender awareness were held for the students of our college.
A candlelight march was taken around Kempapura to champion the cause of gender diversity and inclusion. The light of gender awareness needs to burn bright for a safe, progressive, and healthy society for one and all.
