“Human Resource Development”- “Loneliness-the Silent Killer” 8TH JANUARY, 2018

Faculty development programme was conducted on 8th January, 2018 on the theme “Loneliness the Silent Killer”- in the area of Human Resource Development. The session was handled by Dr. Rajiv R K Massey-Professor, Presidency Business School, Bengaluru. The highlight of the session was how to bring together the students that will encourage them to participate in the curricular and extra-curricular activities. The speaker highlighted how Loneliness and social isolation could now be a greater risk factor for premature death than obesity.
Virtual social networks, in spite of their benefits, have not made us more meaningfully connected to one another. And with many nuclear and extended families lacking the strong ties that were stereotypical of previous generations, there is no easy fix to this painful problem. It is time to have a look at our own families as well as our communities, and find ways to strengthen weak social ties, as well as forge new ones.
Dr Muddu Vinay welcomed all the new faculty members joined to the PGI group. The session ended by congratulating all the teaching and non-teaching staff members for their unstinted support, dedication and contribution which helped to achieve the below milestones during the year 2017 as listed below.
