The Politika Club of the Department of Humanities at Presidency College (Autonomous), Bangalore, proudly hosted a memorable quiz competition titled “Revolutionary Retrospective” on August 12, 2024. This event was a significant highlight of the college’s celebration of the 78th anniversary of India’s Independence, focusing on the valor and sacrifices of the nation’s freedom fighters.
Under the distinguished leadership of Mr. Suhael Ahmad, Vice Chairman of the College, and with the full support of Dr. Suchithra R., the Principal, and Ms. Noreen, Head of the Department, the event was executed with excellence. Dr. Honey Raj, the convener and teacher coordinator, also played a key role in ensuring the event’s success.
The competition saw enthusiastic participation from 11 teams representing various academic streams, including BA, BBA, BCA, and B. Com. With over 150 students in attendance, the quiz created an electrifying atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of patriotism and honoring the monumental struggle for India’s independence.
The quiz featured two intense rounds, testing participants’ knowledge on India’s independence movement, current affairs, static general knowledge, and related themes. The questions were designed to challenge and educate, fostering a vibrant environment of learning and reflection.
After a thrilling competition, the team of Chinmayee and Keerthana from B. Com 1st Year emerged as the winners. They were followed by K.S. Rakshitha and Lakshmipriya from BCA 1st Year, who secured 2nd place, and Abdul Haseeb and Mohammad Sayeed from B. Com 1st Year, who claimed 3rd place.
The award ceremony, presided over by Ms. Noreen, celebrated the winners and acknowledged the participants’ exceptional knowledge and teamwork. Ms. Noreen highlighted the importance of such events in deepening understanding of India’s history and instilling national pride.
