The Odyssey Club of the Department of Languages recently organized an exciting Pop Culture Quiz Competition, “Film Frenzy: Bollywood Edition.” This event was both entertaining and a valuable team-building session for the college’s cinephiles. It provided a platform for the audience to connect, challenge their passion for Bollywood, and served as an icebreaker for first-semester students. The quiz also offered cinephiles an eye-opening experience into the varied genres and eras of Bollywood cinema.
Quizmaster Pratheek P, a final-year BBA student at our college, brilliantly conducted the event, impressing everyone with his choice of questions, well-structured rounds, and the seamless flow of the competition.
The competition featured four rounds, beginning with an elimination round that narrowed the field down to five teams for the finals. The final rounds included an audio round, a visual round, and a buzzer round. As the quiz progressed, Quizmaster Pratheek guided participants through various categories, starting with an MCQ-based elimination round and moving on to a rapid-fire segment. The rapid-fire round challenged participants to recognize lyrics, famous dialogues, and iconic scenes from Bollywood movies, all within a tight time limit.
Held in the Seminar Hall, the event was meticulously organized, with all arrangements made well in advance to ensure a smooth experience.
The success of the competition was largely due to the dedication of the student conveners, Mr. Naivedh Ekka (BCA), Mr. Nadeer K A (BCA), and the volunteers, Mr. Abdul Azeez (BA), Ms. Akshara V (BCA), Ms. Chandana V (BCA), Mr. Arun (B.Com), and Mr. Abdul Azeez (BCA). Their hard work ensured the event ran smoothly.
The competition concluded with the announcement of the winners. The teacher conveners, Ms. Neethu Mary Abraham and Ms. Indrani Sengupta, congratulated the winners, the quizmaster, the conveners, and the volunteers, presenting them with prizes.
