The BA course at Presidency College (Autonomous) provides a perfect and distinct academic experience for students in the Humanities stream. It provides a thorough knowledge of the subject and gives them the opportunity to explore. It helps in development of soft skills and communication skills, which helps the student in the professional world. The blend of the all subjects equip the students with competency required with language, writing, understanding of human behavior and with the state and systems of government, all of which converges to form an exceptional media entity.

Innovative pedagogy with effective usage of ICT, experiential learning, peer-learning, collaborative and cooperative teaching, flip classroom methods bring out the best teaching-learning experience for both the teachers and students. Online classrooms and webinars are encouraged to keep abreast with the technological drift in the education sector. Interactive lectures, assignments and assessments on a regular basis ensure that all students achieve the specified outcome.

The Department consistently organizes guest lectures by professionals from the industry to give the students a commendable insight on how theoretical knowledge applies to the real world. Field visits and certificate courses are also arranged every semester to give the students a first hand and applicable experience of learning.

Along with academics, the focus is on growth of the student as a responsible and versatile individual. The college encourages participation in media fests across Bangalore and gives the students the chance to discover their potential and strength. The department has its annual inter college media fest ‘Vrittanta’, aimed at refining students’ use of skills, knowledge and its implementation.

Students are encouraged to take up research activities. Many a students, under the faculty guidance, have successfully presented research papers at various seminars and conferences at National and International Level.

Students are motivated to intern in the organizations according to the area of their interest. Several students have published articles, poems, stories in newspapers/magazines/digital platforms, worked on short films and documentary projects which have strengthened their career prospects. Our students have conducted one-on-one interviews with celebrities like Justice Santosh Hegde, Writer Chetan Bhagat, veteran Journalist Mr Gautham Machchiah, Film Maker Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, Advocate Ashwin Sanghi to name a few.
